Managers: Good and Bad Throughout a person’s work life they will come across managers with completely different personalities. Most of them release a variety of attitudes that they express towards their employees. No matter what job that we have, we will have at least one of the three types of managers out in the labor force: Strict, laid back, or uneducated managers. Regardless of which one it may be, good or bad, sometimes we’ll have to make the best of both worlds in cases such as this. Anywhere we go, we will most likely have that one strict manager that wants everyone to do everything their way or no way. There are a few reasons why this particular manager would express their sergeant-like attitudes. For example, changing up the cleaning routine is one way to get under the manager’s skin. For instance, there was one day during our closing hours when I decided to sweep the floor before cleaning the pizza dough station which caused my manager to give me a ter rifying look. I didn’t think that sweeping first would’ve caused any sort of friction between the two of us. Another example would be joking around and being unprofessional during work hours. If my manager sees me walk away from my work station to go over to one of my coworkers so I can show he/she a funny text message, that gives them a sign that I am not doing what I’m supposed to. Joking around is just as bad as being unprofessional.
